Senator Bassey Albert to announce YPP membership on Tuesday.

A Member of the Peoples Democratic Party – PDP until his resignation of membership on July 15, 2022, Senator Bassey Albert, who represents Uyo Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate will announce his membership of the Young Progressive Party on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.

Senator Albert, it was gathered, will formally make this declaration on the floor of the National Assembly when he will formally notify the Nigerian Senate of his decision to resign membership of the PDP.

As stated in his resignation letter, the two term Senator’s defection is to further his 2023 Governorship ambition following the emergence of Pastor Umo Eno as the candidate of the PDP.

Findings show that Apostle Nyenime Andy, winner of the YPP Governorship primaries has accepted to step aside for Senator Bassey Albert to become the flag bearer of the party for the 2023 Governorship election in Akwa Ibom State.
