Honorable Manir Dan’Iya, the deputy governor of Sokoto State has formally joined the race to succeed his boss, governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
Manir, whose declaration of interest to contest for the State governorship seat come 2023 is considered long overdue by pundits, is said to be the fourth candidate that has indicated governorship interest in the PDP.
Confirming his readiness to continue with Governor Tambuwal’s legacies in a message via his Twitter account, Manir assured that his resolve to contest come 2023 followed due consultations with the people of the State.
The message in his twitter handle reads, “After due consultations and a nod from His Excellency The Governor Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal am happy to announce with utmost humility and Allah’s will, I formally declare my intention to run for the office of the Governor of Sokoto State , on the platform of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“Already a governorship expression of interest and nomination form were purchased and handed over to the Deputy Governor in Sokoto”.
In his promise to deliver effective, all inclusive governance to the people of the State, Hon Dan’Iya assured that if given the mandate, he will evolve people centered, development oriented leadership in the State.
Said Manir, “If given the mandate to fly PDP’s Sokoto Governorship Flag, I will consolidate on the achievements of my mentor Governor Tambuwal and dwell more on youth engagement and empowerment likewise, I will ensure a welfare oriented government as started by Governor Tambuwal.”
