The Shell Petroleum Development Company Joint Venture (SPDC JV) has lifted the force majeure on gas supplies to the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) from the Eastern Gas Gathering System (EGGS-1) following repair of a sabotage leak on the line.
A statement by Precious Okolobo, Corporate Media Relations Manager, said the force majeure declared on August 4, 2015, is lifted effective August 21, 2015.
The Joint Investigation Team which visited the site found that the leak was caused by a crude theft connection, apparently installed by people who thought the line was transporting crude oil.
