SSA to President inspects ongoing projects, pledges completion within three months

Senator Babajide Omoworare

Senator Babajide Omoworare, the Senior Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly Matters, has inspected ongoing roads and solar projects across Ile-Ife and its environs and pledged their completion within three months.

Omoworare made the promise during his assessment tour to all the ongoing road and other projects in Ile-Ife and environs, on Tuesday.

He said that the Federal Government is fixing no fewer than 10 to 12 roads within the Ife axis, while drainages and power supply projects were also not excluded.

According to him, the government has installed almost 1000 Solar lights on 10 to 12 major streets in Ile-Ife and he assured that within the next two weeks, all the Solar projects would be totally completed.

The Special Adviser stated further that the project is an intervention for the good people of Osun, Ife/Ijesa Senatorial District and for the people of Ife Federal Constituency as a whole.

“This is not the first time that the Federal Government would be doing this.

“President Muhammadu Buhari’s government is doing the necessary things that government should do for the masses by caring for them, feeling their pulse and ensuring that the intervention is done.

“He’s not doing it in the area of infrastructure alone but providing jobs for the masses, assisting the market men and women and empower the masses as well,” he explained

The Senator lamented the lackadaisical attitude of Nigerians towards maintaining and sustaining government projects, saying that a bill has been submitted at the National Assembly to sustain government projects.

He charged the citizens to maintain government projects, stressing that once government has executed a project, it becomes the duty of the people to contribute their quota by ensuring the upkeep of the projects.

“What President Buhari is doing is to lay a good foundation for the governors, hoping that by the grace of God the next President will sustain and maintain the foundation laid and do a lot more.

“The President doesn’t believe in abandoned projects, so all the roads, rail networks started by his predecessor were totally completed.

“And he’s passionate about next year’s elections, which would surely be free, fair and credible,” he said.

The Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Olubiyi Toriola, while welcoming the Senator to his Palace, commended him and President Muhammadu Buhari on their efforts to help the masses.

Oba Toriola appealed to him to assist them to construct the Olarewaju bridge for ease of transportation of farm produce from their farms to the town.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the ongoing road projects visited are: Orilonise, Mokuro, Gbelenkan, Akarabata, Iremo (Ogboni lane), Ayelabowo, Oke-Ayetoro, Abewela, Obaloogun, Odo-Ogbe and Orun-Oba-Ado streets in Ile-Ife.
