President Bola Tinubu has signed into law the Appropriation (Amendment) (No. 4) Bill, 2025, extending the 2025 budget implementation period to Dec. 31.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga, on Wednesday in Abuja.
According to him, the extension moves the deadline from Sept. 30, to Dec. 31.
The assent followed the swift passage of the amendment by the Senate and House of Representatives on Tuesday.
The extension gives Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) additional time to complete ongoing capital projects.
It also ensures that appropriated funds are fully utilised for Nigerians without disrupting critical programmes.
Tinubu commended the leadership and members of the National Assembly for their prompt consideration of the bill.
He described the development as a further demonstration of cooperation between the Executive and Legislature in the service of the nation.
