President Bola Tinubu has announced more appointments, including those of Dr. Mainasara Umar Kogo as the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Mr. Jobson Ewalefoh as Director-General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), Mr. Oluwaseun Faleye as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) and Senator Bashir Lado Mohammed as Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters (Office of the President).
Other new appointees, according to statements by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity) are Ms. Omolola Bridget Oloworaran as Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), Mr. Cornelius Oluwasegun Adebayo as Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), Dr. Olufemi Adekanmbi as Project Coordinator for the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP) and Mr. Idris Ajimobi as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Livestock Development (Office of the President).
Mr. Faleye, a legal and corporate finance specialist, will have, to serve with him at the NSITF, Mrs. Mojisolaoluwa Kehinde Alli-Macaulay, a former lawmaker and ex-Chairperson of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Women Affairs, Poverty Alleviation, and Job Creation, whose appointment, as the Executive Director (Operations) of NSITF, was also approved by President Tinubu.
Dr. Kogo, the new Chairman of CCT, is a seasoned lawyer and analyst in the fields of law, security, economy, politics, and international diplomacy, while Mr. Ewalefoh, the new D-G of the ICRC, is a professional with years of experience in government and development organizations, with additional expertise in public-private partnerships, public policy reform and development. Ewalefoh’s appointment is subject to the confirmation of the Nigerian Senate.
The new Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters (Office of the President), Mr. Mohammed is an experienced politician and businessman from Kano State. He was a Senator representing Kano Central and a former Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
Ms. Oloworaran, the new PenCom DG, is a finance and banking expert with many years of experience and her appointment is also subject to the confirmation of the Nigerian Senate.
The new Executive Secretary of NALDA, Mr. Adebayo, is an engineer and community and social development expert, while the new Project Coordinator for the HYPREP, Dr. Adekanmbi, holds a Doctorate degree in Environmental Management, is a former Commissioner for Special Duties, Culture and Tourism in Ondo State, and a member of the Nigerian Environmental Society (NES).
Mr. Ajimobi’s appointment as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Livestock Development (Office of the President), according to Ngelale, “follows the recent inauguration of the Presidential Committee on Implementation of Livestock Reforms and the establishment of a new Ministry of Livestock Development.”
