A statement issued in Port Harcourt and signed by Mr. Parry Saroh Benson, Spokesperson to Senator Abe, stated that the decision of the Tribunal has vindicated that Rivers South East Senatorial District is for APC.
The statement said it was because Rivers South East was solidly behind the APC that Gov. Nyesom Wike and the PDP had resorted to killings, propaganda and deceit to deter the people from expressing their wish through the ballot box.
It commended the Tribunal for the meticulous and impartial judgement that unraveled the truth and put to rest the vicious campaign of attrition against the victory in the poll by APC in Opobo-Nkoro constituency.
The statement said that if the re-run election was conducted in the remaining areas where it was suspended; without violence, rigging and other forms of manipulation, the APC would surely win any day anytime.
The statement said it was on this understanding that Gov. Wike had been having sleepless nights on how to manipulate and stop APC particularly, Senator Abe from winning.
The statement on behalf of Senator Abe and his family expressed the deepest and warmest regard for the well deserved victory Hon. Miller obtained in the Tribunal.
It further appealed to all APC members in the district to close ranks and re-double efforts in order to continue to win in the rest of the elections, assuring that the people have sympathy for the APC.
The statement urged the people of the district to discountenance the threats, ranting, propaganda and maligning by Gov. Wike against the people and APC leaders, pointing out that such has betrayed the governor’s conviction that Rivers South East Senatorial District and indeed Rivers State belong to APC.
