The African American Future Society (TAAFS), in preparation for the United Nations Summit on the Future, has collaborated with Black organizations, Afrofuturists, Futurists, and civil society organizations from around the world to work towards a stronger United Nations system, by organizing the Black Futures Summit under the auspices of Afro4UN.
The UN Summit on the Future holds from September 21 to 23, 2024 with the Heads of State and Government’s High Level Debates taking place between September 22 and 23, 2024.
The Afro4UN’s Black Futures Summit, which will highlight the future of Black communities worldwide, according to a statement by Yul Anderson, President, African American Future Society, comes up during the Action Days of the UN Summit on the Future from September 20 to 21, 2024 with different engaging and impactful side events.
Top political and business leaders, activists and subject matter experts, will be speaking on diverse themes under different platforms, at different times, to drive global attention to the challenges facing Black people and the opportunities available to them, with a focus on innovative solutions and sustainable development.
Recommendations obtained from the presentations at the different side events of the Black Futures Summit will be forwarded to the UN Summit on the Future for documentation and necessary action.
