Father of immediate past deputy governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Muhammadu Dan Iya has commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s style of leadership, saying in just two years, the governor has demonstrated good governance by matching words with actions, especially in the area of projects execution.
Muhammadu Dan Iya, who is the District Head (Sarkin Yamman Kware), admitted that with Governor Aliyu, Sokoto is truly seeing good governance in every part of the state.
Going round Kware local government for an on-the-spot assessment of projects, both completed and ongoing, the scintillating sight of the 18km dunlop road that connects the three local governments of Kware, Gwadabawa and Wurno amazed all who saw it.
The newly constructed road cuts across 18 villages thereby causing the benefiting villagers to heave a sigh of relief as it not only brings them closer to development but also adds up to their economic prospect.
Some of the other projects inspected include the newly installed solar street lights, feeder roads, renovated and newly constructed health facilities as well as human capital development programmes.
Speaking on Governor Aliyu’s performance in the last two years, the local government chairmen of Kware, Sokoto North, Sokoto South and Wamakko said it is a testament for all to see good governance in action.
Some of the projects inspected within Sokoto North, Sokoto South, Kware and Wamakko local government areas also include, the 500 housing units where work is in progress, the construction of concrete drainages across the local government to help curb the menace of erosion, schools, as well as the completion of numerous water projects initiated by former governor Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.
