Valentine Ozigbo commiserates with Mac Oruche as he lays wife to rest; Peter Obi, Nwodos, Alaibe, others in attendeance
Valentine Ozigbo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2021 Anambra governorship election, on Friday, January 28, 2022, joined the Oruche family to pay his last respects to their late wife and mother, Mrs Chinelo Ngozika Oruche.
Mrs Oruche, who passed on at 67, was the wife of Mr Mac Oruche, the Chairman of Strickland Services Limited. Mr. Oruche is Mr Ozigbo’s close friend and an active supporter of his guber bid.
The funeral ceremony began with a mass at Our Lady of Heavens Catholic Church Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area, presided over by Bishop Martin Uzoukwu, the Catholic Bishop of Minna Diocese.
While delivering his sermon, Bishop Uzoukwu eulogised the late Mrs Oruche as a core Christian mother who took gracefully carried out her motherly roles both in her home and in the church.
In his condolence message, Ozigbo described Mrs Oruche as a “kind, loving and hardworking woman who will be missed for her warmth, virtue and excellent spirit.”
Ozigbo, who was recently voted as the Anambra Man of the Year 2021, further prayed for a peaceful repose of her soul and comfort for the bereaved.
Dignitaries at the ceremony include His Excellency Peter Obi, the immediate past Governor of Anambra State; His Excellency Okwesilieze Nwodo, a former Governor of Enugu State; and Senator Dr Ben Obi, a member of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT).
Others are Chief Dr Chidi Anyaegbu, the Founder of Chisco Group; Chief Sir John Nnia Nwodo, a former President of Ohaneze Ndigbo; Timi Alaibe, a former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC); Engr Simbi Wabote, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB); John Obayuwana, the MD/CEO of Polo Luxury Group, and many others.
Ozigbo’s wife, Mrs. Ojiugo Ozigbo, and several members of the 2021 Anambra PDP Governorship Campaign Organisation accompanied him to the event.
