
Nigeria’s Super Falcons will miss the services of Asisat Oshoala who is ruled out of the WAFCON tournament with a grade 2 MCL strain.
Oshoala sustained the injury in the 82nd minute of Nigeria’s 1-2 loss to South Africa on Monday July 4, 2022 in the opening Group C clash of the ongoing WAFCON in Morroco.
The Nigerian ladies will take on Botswana in the second game same day Oshoala is expected back in Spain where she will undergo treatment under the watch of FC Barcelona Fermini medics.
The news will be a blow to Head Coach Randy Waldrum who had expressed optimism that the striker will recover from the injury in time for tomorrow’s match while responding to questions at the post match interview.
Asisat Oshoala who was top scorer at the 2018 edition will not only miss the rest of the tournament but also miss grounds in her quest to retain her place as the best female footballer in Africa.
