An Islamic scholar, Sheik Khalifa Ali Abbdulfattahi has said that as religious leaders they are strongly behind President Muhammadu Buhari`s anti-corruption war and called on Nigerians to use the Eid El Maulud and Chrismas festivities to pray for the success of the Buhari administration, so that he will surmount the challenges facing the nation.
Sheik Abdulfattahi who made the appeal while speaking on Eid el-maulud celebration at Madeenat Mosque Maiduguri said the security and economic challenges the nation is going through will soon be a thing of the past with prayers and support.
He said as religious leader they are strongly behind President Buhari`s fight against insurgency and corruption, adding that the President should go to any length to recover the funds that the past leaders stole and use them in revamping the nation’s economy.
He called on all Muslims to always respect constituted authority, as according to him, there will be no meaningful development without peace.
He also commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the military on the success recorded in the fight against insurgency and restoration of peace in the North-east and Borno state in particular.
He also called on Muslims to use the Maulud festivity to reflect on life of Prophet Muhammadu (S.A W) and always pray for their leaders.
