World Cup: England hit by equipment theft ahead of Croatia clash

England’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup have been disrupted after some of the team’s training equipment was stolen in Kansas City.

The incident happened before the arrival of England manager Thomas Tuchel and his squad, with equipment being transported to the team’s training base at Swope Soccer Village.

According to reports, vehicles carrying the equipment were broken into, with football boots, training balls and other items feared to have been taken.

The Football Association has launched an investigation and is working to establish the full extent of the theft.

Police officers attended the scene on Friday night and have remained in contact with FA officials. Reports suggest that two suspects have already been arrested in connection with the incident.

The theft comes just days before England begin their World Cup campaign against Croatia on Wednesday, raising concerns that preparations could be affected.

Tuchel and his players are expected to arrive in Kansas City on Saturday afternoon, while the squad’s first full training session is scheduled for Sunday.

Despite the setback, England will hope the issue is resolved quickly as they focus on securing a positive start to their World Cup journey.
