African footballer of the year, Manchester City‘s Yaya Toure from Ivory Coast, is the only African in the 23-man shortlist for world’s best football award, FIFA Ballon d’Or, announced by football governing body.
The list which stars six players from Barcelona FC, includes five from Bayern Munich, and another five from Real Madrid.
English clubsides Manchester City and Arsenal have two and one players, respectively, while Chelsea has one player in the list.
The winner will be announced in a ceremony at Zurich on January 11.
