Six persons were Tuesday killed while 7 others sustained injuries in a fatal auto crash that occurred at Yelwa bridge of Karia ward along Bauchi -Ningi road in Ganjuwa local government area of Bauchi State.
This was contained in press statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed and made available to newsmen saying that the accident which took place on the 5th of April 2016 at 4pm, happened when a Peugeot 806 with registration number XB 953 DUT conveying 13 passengers, driven by 30 year old Aliyu Adamu of Babaldu Town in Birnin Kudu local government of Jigawa State, lost control and skidded off the road.
According to him, as a result of that, the vehicle somersaulted and hit a tree, killing six persons.
“Police patrol team attached to Ganjuwa Division visited the scene and rushed the victims who sustained various degrees of injuries to General Hospital Ningi for treatment”, the PPRO said.
” The following victims who were certified dead while receiving treatment, include Rayyanu Idris , 20 years of Babaldu,(male), Auwal Isah, 45 years of Jimbin Village, Ganjuwa(male), Ibrahim Badamasi, 5 years of Kano State (male), Fatima Badamasi female ,2 years of Kano State (female), Dauda Bilya, 3 years of Kano state(male) and Ummi Salma , 6 years of Kano State (female)”
The PPRO revealed that the driver sustained fracture on the leg while other passengers were treated and discharged, adding that the corpses were deposited at the mortuary for postmortem examinations after which they would be released to relatives for burial.
