Spokesman for Pst. Umo Eno campaign Organization and the Maintain Peace Movement in Akwa Ibom state, Mr. Anietie Usen has said that over 600 political support groups have thrown their weights behind Pastor Umo Eno, as the preferred successor to Governor Udom Emmanuel come 2023.
Usen, who is the National Director of Media, Maintain Peace Movement (MPM) and Umo Eno Campaign Organization disclosed this to newsmen during the inauguration ceremony of the committee in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital.
Mr. Usen, who doubles as the chairman of Friends of Umo Eno League (FUEL) said that Pastor Umo Eno’s aspiration is divine, stressing that what will happen in the state in 2023 will shock everyone.
The veteran journalist also stated that, the Umo Eno League will supersede every other group in terms of support for Governor Udom Emmanuel’s completion agenda and the preferred choice of successor for 2023.
Addressing supporters after the inauguration, the acclaimed media director said the support group would be unusual in its approach to ensure that the aspiration of Umo Eno as the choice of the incumbent governor would be a total success.
“It is an unusual political group out to make a difference. I accept the responsibility wholeheartedly.
“I will explore all the experiences that God has given me and bring them to bear in the success of Umo Eno as the governor of Akwa Ibom come 2023.
“Umo Eno support group is not just a movement of the people. It is also the movement of the host of heaven,” he said, insisting that God is ready to tell Akwa Ibom people that He is the one who chooses leaders and enthrones kings for the people.
He thanked Governor Emmanuel, not just for discovering Pastor Eno, but for identifying his rare qualities, especially his humility, integrity, and vigorous entrepreneurial mindset and endorsing him to continue the good work he, the governor has been doing. Usen predicted that Akwa Ibom people will have cause in the nearest future to look back and thank Governor Emmanuel for endorsing Eno, who he described as a man of depth and insight into the operations of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
“Umo Eno is a guru in SMEs and MSMEs. SMEs and MSMEs are the engine rooms of both developing and developed economies around the world. His credentials as one of the most successful indigenous entrepreneurs, with a staff strength of more than 2000 and a monthly salary bill of more than N26 million speaks volumes about the unique capacity and pedigree of this particular governorship aspirant to advance the entrepreneurial spirit of Akwa Ibom people and build the capacity of the coming generation,” Usen maintained.
He recalled that Governor Emmanuel brought Eno to serve in the state cabinet and within two years, he became the governor’s preferred aspirant and choice successor for 2023, informing that FUEL would be inaugurated across the 31 local government areas in the state.
Also speaking at the occasion, the chairman of the National Steering Committee of the Support Group, Barr. Udosen, described FUEL as a unique and novel political support group, adding that the newly inaugurated state and LGAs Excos are called upon to “walk with Umo Eno, work with him and win with him.”
Our Correspondent reports that, FUEL was founded in 2020, initially as a prayer group in All Nations Christian Ministry International, to pray for Umo Eno, the founder and presiding pastor of the church, when he was appointed as Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources in Akwa Ibom state. The group was on a prolonged prayer and fasting programme even on the day that Governor Udom and key political, religious, and traditional stakeholders met on Sunday, January 30, and endorsed Pastor Eno as the preferred successor to Governor Emmanuel.
Those elected to the executive positions in FUEL included: Mr. Anietie Usen, journalist and author as the first State Chairman of the organization. Also, at its first and well-attended State Congress held in Uyo, March 7, 2022, the Chairman of the National Steering Committee of FUEL, Barr.
