Alhaji Bello Tambuwal, the Clerk of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, has been conferred with the Sir Ahmadu Bello platinum leadership award by the Association of Northern Nigeria Students (ANNS).
Presenting the award in Sokoto on Wednesday, the North West Coordinator of ANNS, Miss Abigail Yakubu, described the clerk as an icon of societal development.
Yakubu said the award is presented by the association based on the recognition of people who have continued to support the Youth toward a greater future.
“The clerk has distinguished himself among many other Nigerians in supporting the future of our teeming Youth to acquire quality education.
“This is the quality that encouraged the association during its National Executive Council meeting to choose Tambuwal for such a prestigious recognition,” she said.
Also speaking, Mr Abubakar Umar, the Sokoto State Coordinator of ANNS, said the award is a great honour to the state chapter of the Association.
“We are truly honored and for the recipient of the award we have the full confidence that his contribution to educational development in our state deserves more recognition,” he said.
Responding, Tambuwal appreciated the students for their recognition of his qualities, while assuring them he will sustain his commitment to make life better for Youth in the state
