Peter Obi votes, decries hiccups in electoral process in parts of the country

Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi has said that reports of late delivery of voting materials nationwide have reached him, even as he voted in his home, Agulu, Polling Unit in Anambra State with his wife Margaret.
Mr. Obi, who said the process in his polling unit was smooth, however, expressed hope that the situation will improve to allow the voting to go on in all polling units across the country.
In several states, especially in Lagos, Abia, Imo, Rivers, Anambra, there have been reports and video clips showing voters complaining bitterly that they neither saw INEC INEC officials nor voting materials as late noon on election day.
In Lagos, Edo and Rivers states also, there were video clips of areas being attacked by hoodlums or thugs who scattered the voting materials and set ablaze already thumb printed ballot papers.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, acknowledged the delays in some areas and promised that voters on ground before 2.30 pm when evoting was expected to close would leave till they have voted.
Mr. Obi said in a tweet:
“My dear wife and I have now cast our votes for a New Nigeria at 11:42am in Agulu. It was a smooth process in my polling unit. However, I have received reports of delays in delivery of voting materials nationwide.
“I hope the situation improves to allow the process to go on smoothly in all the polling units across the country. -PO.”
