Ego Mbagwu, former NTA Director, takes to mountaineering

Ego Mbagwu, a former Director at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and an avid tennis player has found an exciting and exhilarating new hobby, mountaineering!!!!

Mbagwu, the Obowo, Imo State, Nigeria-born Chief Executive Officer of the not-for-profit trend-setting Lagos based Zaccheus Onumba Dibiaezue Memorial Libraries, recently took to the mountain trail as part of a team of mountaineers that explored the scenic beauty of Fort William in the extreme edge of Northern Scotland.

Before Fort William in Scotland, the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) graduate, had, two years ago, explored the equally historic Vesuvius mountain in Naples, Italy.

The historic Fort William, variously called, among others, a “climber’s paradise” and the “Outdoor Capital of the UK,” had a lot to offer the tourist mountain climbers as they saw a mixture of monuments, landmarks and other relics from the past as well as the signs of modernity everywhere they went.

However memorable the experiences and however strong the lure to return to the mountain tracks, it is sure that lawn tennis, and the passion to impact the lives of young people through the provision of the opportunities that modern library facilities offer, will remain evergreen in the heart of the veteran broadcast media icon.

Pictures here show Ego Mbagwu and team members on the mountain trail in Fort William, Scotland.
