Senator Sunday Karimi, representing Kogi West Senatorial district in Nigeria’s National Assembly, has vowed to repair the Pakuta River Bridge in Kiri Kingdom which recently collapsed unexpectedly, causing chaos and disruption in the area.
Senator Karimi’s quick intervention in the unfortunate incident followed the alarm raised by Professor Olu Obafemi, the Asiwaju of Kiri Kingdom, who, recognizing the importance of the bridge in communication and transportation, sprang into action, by reaching out to representatives of the people in government both at the State and National levels, including Senator Karimi.
Professor Obafemi had, himself, responded to the prompting to the Olukiri of Kiri Kingdom, Olu James Abayomi Ikusemoro, who had, understandably, expressed serious concern over the collapse of the very important bridge.
Senator Karimi, Chairman of the Committee on Senate Services, who is known for his usual rapid response to the needs of his constituents, and for his dedication to them, has promptly taken charge of the situation, assuring that the bridge would, as soon as possible, be repaired, especially in view of the impact it has on the well being of people of Kiri Kingdom.
From 2011 to 2019, Karimi was the member representing Yagba East/Yagba West/Mopamuro constituency in the House of Representatives and has continued his trajectory of impactful service to his constituents from his present position as Senator.
According to Otunba Kingsley Mokikan, a prominent community leader from the area, the entire community has expressed their gratitude to Senator Karimi, praising him for his swift and decisive action in ensuring the reconstruction of the Pakuta River bridge.
“With the commitment and support of Senator Karimi, the residents of Kiri Kingdom can be rest assured that normalcy will soon be restored, and communication will once again flow smoothly in the area,” another community leader noted.
