The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court presided over by Justice Ademola Adeniyi, Thursday, directed the Federal Government and the Department of State Services to obey an earlier court order granting former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (Rtd.), permission to travel must be obeyed.

The court in its ruling, asked the Federal Government to wait for Dasuki to return from his medical trip before trial can continue.

Dasuki had headed to the court to enforce his fundamental rights after he was prevented from travelling despite a court order. His counsel, Joseph Daudu, complained that his client’s right to freedom is being infringed upon.

Counsel to the Federal Government, Shuaibu Labaran, had told the court that Dasuki refused to honour an invitation sent to him on November 4 to appear before the DSS, an allegation which Dasuki has since dismissed.

The court granted Dasuki’s prayer for a mandatory order directing the DSS to remove all human and non-human barricades laid around his residence.
