The budget which was presented by the state governor, Mohammed Umaru Jibrilla Bindow, before the state lawmakers yesterday, was christened ‘Budget of Hope.’
A breakdown of the budget expenditure showed a recurrent component of N60,056234, 030 billion and capital votes of N60, 070,622,500.
The governor said the administration’s commitment of 50 per cent of state resources to capital development is in consonance with the change mantra of the administration.
He noted that the vision of his administration remains the rapid socioeconomic development of the state, stressing that the estimates for the 2016 fiscal year have taken into cognisance the current economic challenges and realities.
The budget was short on details for statutory transfers and internally generated revenues (IGR).
Governor Bindow, however, hinted of plans to raise IGR from the preceding year by about 50 per cent.
