Boko Haram attacks Borno village, kill 16, abduct 6; Forces restore order

Sixteen people, including children, were killed, six others were abducted while several houses and shops were set ablaze when suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked Kimba village of Biu local government area of Borno state on December 25th.
A resident of the village, Ibrahim Buba, who fled to Biu town, told our Correspondent on phone that the insurgents, who came to the village at about 7:00pm on Friday started shooting and setting houses ablaze, killing 16 people including children and abducting six people.

He said “as I am speaking with you, we have all fled the village because they killed 16 of our people including my brother before they abducted 6 others.”

Confirming the attack, a security source from Biu who does not want his name in print said on Friday 25th December 2015 at abbot 19 hours, some Boko Haram insurgents attacked Kimba village, killing 16 people and setting ablaze houses and shops while six others were abducted.

He said that, however, “normalcy has since returned to the village, as many of our men were deployed to the area to pursue the fleeing terrorists.”
