Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, has asked the Nigerian electorate to take the anger of the recent scarcity of cash in the country, which has resulted in protests to the polls.
In a tweet following the protests that erupted in some cities of the country, especially Benin City, the former Governor of Anambra State acknowledged that the suffering and harsh economic realities have brought untold anger on the people” but pleaded for patience on the part of the people, assuring that “help is coming.”
The tweet reads: “There have been reported pockets of skirmishes in Benin City and other places arising from the recent scarcity of cash.
“I plead with Nigerians to be patient; help is coming. The suffering and harsh economic realities have brought untold anger on the people.
“May we, for the sake of our nation, take such anger to the polls on February 25. That is the only way to end the present suffering. -PO
