Nigerian music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has advised people to keep records of assistance they render to others, saying acts of kindness can sometimes have unexpected consequences.
Davido gave the advice during an appearance on The Uncut podcast, where he reflected on the possible effects of helping others.
He said kindness could have either positive or negative consequences, making it important for people to document the assistance they provide.
“In life, you never know where your kindness can take you. It can either take you up or down. That is why when you help people, always keep receipts. Don’t play with it,” he said.
The singer did not disclose any specific experience that prompted the advice.
His comments have, however, generated discussions online, with some social media users agreeing that people should keep records when providing financial or other forms of assistance.
Others argued that acts of kindness should be carried out genuinely without necessarily keeping documentation.
