Nigerian Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has appealed to U.S. President Donald Trump to pay attention to concerns over the forthcoming election in Osun.
Davido made the appeal in a post shared on his Instagram Story, where he expressed concerns over possible tension, violence, intimidation and disruption of the democratic process in the state.
The singer called on Trump and the international community to closely monitor the election and encourage relevant authorities to protect voters and ensure that every vote is respected.
“Osun people deserve to exercise their constitutional right to vote freely, peacefully, and without fear,” he said.
Davido said he wanted a peaceful, transparent and credible election, free from violence or intimidation.
He also appealed to the United States and the international community to pay close attention to the election.
