After successful town hall meetings and campaigns for the election of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the presidential election, the Diaspora for Atiku-USA (DFA-USA) campaign team is now moving to Nigeria to be part of the final round of consultations and strategic actions that will culminate in the presidential elections on Saturday, February 16, 2019.

The climax of the town hall meetings, which were held in New Jersey on January 16, 2019, Dallas Texas on January 18, 2019, Los Angeles on January 19, 2019 and finally in Las Vegas, was the visit of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar GCON, the presidential candidate of the PDP to the United States.

The visit boosted the town hall meetings and took the whole world by storm as well as rubbished the propaganda of the ruling party in Nigeria, the APC, that Atiku Abubakar was barred from traveling to the United States.

The Diaspora for Atiku-USA organization was founded with the approval and mandate of H.E. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who appointed the following: High Chief (Sir) Charles Ugo Eke as the lead Coordinator, Dr (Mrs) Chinyere Egu- Okeke, Dr (Mrs) Obiageri Eke Mbakwem, and Hon (Mrs) Mbanaja-Hadjesmaili as National Coordinators.

The lead National Coordinator, High Chief Charles Ugo Eke, said that the DFA-USA is currently in 12 states in the US, Canada, Nigeria  and United Kingdom with more than 74  state Coordinators. He said, however, that the town hall meetings were only organized in four major states in the US while the DFA-USA also maintains strong presence for GOTV (Get Out The Votes) in Nigeria.

The Atiku/Obi campaign team had Segun Sowunmi Adeyemi (Atiku Campaign Organization Spokesman) and Chief Ejiofor Onyia (of the Presidential Campaign Council) here in the US to tour the four states for the town hall meetings.

The meetings started off in New Jersey and was successful through the instrumentality of the likes of High Chief (Sir) Charles Eke, Barrister Emmanuel Odoemena, Prince Anozie, Sir Law Ibe, Martha Eleta Iluonokhalumhe and Chief Mike Unegbu. From New Jersey the delegation headed to Dallas Texas for the second town hall meeting which was also a great success with the help of the likes of Mrs Felicia Mbanaja-Hedjesmaili, Engr Kelechi Eke and others. Los Angeles was not left out as Dr Bright Aregs, George Nze and many others organized to make the town hall meeting there a success.

Las Vegas was also on hand to receive the campaign delegation for their town hall meeting and not only were there people there to do justice to the occasion but Dr (Mrs) Chinyere Egu-Eke and Dr (Mrs)Obiageri Eke-Mbakwem organized the event in grand style.

Having concluded the campaigns and the town hall meetings in the United States, the Diaspora for Atiku-USA has moved into Nigeria in full force to ensure that apparent decision of Nigerians to vote out President Muhammadu Buhari and vote into office Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is realized on Saturday, February 2019.

The lead National Coordinator, High Chief (Sir) Sir Charles Ugo Eke said that all the materials for the mass mobilization of voters arrived Nigeria early enough for the crucial last lap of the campaigns stressing that the US team would continue to work tirelessly till the objective of victory is achieved. The Get Out The Votes (GOTV) canvassers were equipped with flyers, T-shirts, banners and buses to go around mobilizing voters, educating the electorate on how to conduct themselves on election day to ensure that there are no void votes and how to protect their votes and ensure that there is no rigging.

High Chief Ugo Ekeh stressed that the PDP victory train had already left the station, headed for the Aso Rock villa as the response of the Nigerian electorate at all the campaign venues showed that the Atiku/Obi ticket would secure a landslide victory at the polls.

He urged all registered voters to come out in their numbers to perform their civic duties and to ensure that they secure their votes by waiting to see the votes counted and recorded. He also called on Nigerians in the Diaspora to call their relatives and friends in Nigeria and encourage them to go out and vote for the Atiku/Obi ticket and also to pray that nothing must happen that would subvert the will of the Nigerian people.

He also urged the international community, especially the United States of America, Britain and the European Union to be at full alert to ensure that the will of the people of Nigeria, which would be fully expressed through their votes on Saturday, February 16, 2019 will not be subverted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the security agencies or the increasingly more desperate Federal Government of Buhari.
