Donald Trump has been sworn in as the 47th President of the United States of America U.S.A, taking the oath of office in the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol building in Washington.
Trump swore the oath in a grand ceremony attended by his family, former U.S. presidents and dignitaries from the United States and abroad on Monday, January 25, 2025.
“The Golden Age of America begins right now,” he said in his inaugural speech.
“I will simply put America first,” Trump added.
He also said that God saved him from an assassin’s bullet to “make America great again.”
“Just a few months ago, in a beautiful Pennsylvania field, an assassin’s bullet ripped through my ear.
“But I felt then and believe, even more so now that my life was saved for a reason.
“I was saved by God to make America great again,” he said during his inaugural address.
Trump was shot on July 13 near Butler, in the state of Pennsylvania.
Thomas Matthew Crooks was able to climb to an elevated position with an assault rifle and fire a number of shots at Trump at the rally, with a bullet grazing the former U.S. president’s right ear.
The inauguration of Trump and his Vice, J.D Vance coincided with the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, celebrated across the U.S in honor of the civil rights leader and Nobel Peace Prize recipient who is best known for his memorable speech, ‘I Have A Dream.”
President Trump also noted the coincidence and assured his worldwide audience that he will work to ensure that late Dr. King Jr.’s dream is realized during his tenure.
