Fed Poly, Ukana gets principal officers

The Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic, Ukana in Akwa Ibom State has approved the appointment of new principal officers for the institution.

The appointment follows the expiration of tenure of former officers. Their tenure ended on June  8 this year.

The newly appointed principal officers are,  Dr. Okon John Ekanem as Registrar; Dr Mercy Ebong, Polytechnic Librarian, while Mr. Mark Titus Binwal is the Bursar.

Dr. Ekanem, until his appointment, was Deputy Registrar, Council Affairs Unit in the Registrar’s office, University of Calabar.

He is a holder of B.Sc (Hons), M.Sc and Ph.D in Industrial Sociology, all from the University of Calabar.

He is an indigene of Ukana Ikot Ofok in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

Dr Ekanem takes over from Mr. Chrysanthus Michael Asuka as Registrar of the Polytechnic.

Also,  Dr. Mercy Ebong holds  a B.Sc Ed in Accounting from the University of Uyo,  Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS), University of Uyo and Ph.D in Library and Information Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

She is an indigene of Ikot Ekpeyak Ikono in Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. She takes over from Dr. (Mrs) Emem Paul Udofia.

Mr Binwal holds a B.Sc in Accounting from the University of Jos.

He is a member, Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) and an Associate member, Nigeria Institute of Management ( AMNIM). Mr Binwal is an indigene of Langtang, Plateau State.
