University of Calabar undergraduate, Miss Gift Odama, has emerged winner of Treasure Jungle Africa Reality TV show 2022, held at Mbiabong Ikot Udofia in Ini local government area of Akwa Ibom state.
Ms. Odama, who is a 300 level student of Guidance and Counselling, defeated 30 other contestants to emerge the winner of the competition that lasted more than a month.
At the grand finale and awards presentation ceremony, Ms Odama was also crowned the Emperor of the Treasure Jungle 2022 and presented with a Toyota Camry 2006 edition car gift.
The Reality TV show, according to the organizers is an annual event organised by the Treasure Jungle Africa under sponsorship by a consortium of media/entertainment groups like the Twin Legacy Enterprise, Goondee Box Investment, Juson Valley Enterprise, NTA and many others.
Winner of the reality show, Ms Odama, while speaking to newsmen after the competition expressed delight saying, “it is a dream come true” adding that, the feat would not have been possible without God.
She called on other Nigerian youths to believe in their abilities, adding that once they have confidence in their abilities everything would be achievable in life.
According to her, “I feel very happy, indeed I cannot express my happiness right now, it’s like a dream come true. But I thank God because without Him I wouldn’t have been here today.
“It wasn’t easy, but I want to tell Nigerian youths out there that whatever they want to do they should believe in themselves first; if you believe in yourself that you can do it, every other thing that people will say is not important..
“When I was coming to the competition, someone discouraged me and said shows like this, organisers end up sleeping with you before you can make it through, but I said No! I have to come here myself and see for myself. Everything that happened here is a reality and I can testify that this is the best that I have ever seen for now”.
Also speaking a Nollywood actor, Emmanuel Etukudo a.k.a. Ekarika described the reality show as indeed, a reality and urged other Nigerian youths to wake up and stop criticising the governments, but contribute their quota to help themselves.
” I want to say that, this show is a reality because some people have it at the back of their minds that, this is where people come and make quick money and go away. That is not true; the organisers are trying to encourage talents among the youths.
“We have seen the second runner up going home with $1, 000 dollars and a land, the first runner up with $2, 000 dollars and the overall winner with a prize money and a car.
“So, I want to encourage our youths to stop looking for what government can do for them and join the competition like every other youths to develop their talents” he stated.
Also, the Director of the Treasure Jungle Reality show, Mr. Iniobong Udoh commended the participants for their behaviour throughout the challenge saying that, it was a challenging experience being season 1 of the competition .
He expressed optimism that future events would be better and appreciated the community for providing a peaceful ambience for the reality show.
