Imo CP supervises promotional exams for 77 senior officers, urges discipline, integrity

The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Audu Garba Bosso, on September 30, 2026, supervised the ongoing promotional examinations for senior police officers at the Police Children School, Owerri. The exercise, which commenced on Monday, September 28, 2026, is part of the process for officers seeking advancement to their respective next ranks.
In the course of the visit, the Commissioner, according to a statement by DSP Henry Okoye, Police Public Relations Officer, Imo Command, Owerri, met with Mr. George Morako, Head of the Police Service Commission (PSC) delegation, and other officials overseeing the exercise.
He was briefed on the conduct of the examinations and stressed the need for all participants and officials to adhere to the guidelines governing the process.
The examinations, DSP Okoye said, involve 77 officers, comprising four officers from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), five officers from Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Superintendent of Police (SP), and 68 officers from Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
Following the briefing, the CP addressed the candidates and urged them to conduct themselves in an orderly manner, remain focused and approach the examinations with integrity. He noted that promotion to higher ranks comes with increased responsibilities and requires competence and commitment to duty.
He further stated that only officers who pass the examinations will be shortlisted for consideration for promotion to their respective next ranks, in line with the prescribed procedures. He also urged the candidates to give their best and remain focused throughout the exercise.
The Commissioner commended the Police Service Commission delegation and other officials involved in the exercise and reaffirmed the Imo State Police Command’s commitment to merit, professionalism, discipline and due process in the career development of its personnel.
