
Nigeria’s new Consul General (CG) in New York, United States of America (USA), Ambassador Abubakar Jidda, will have his first major meeting with his country’s nationals in the 20 US states under his jurisdiction on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 6pm to 8pm.
The virtual meeting, being convened by the Consulate General of Nigeria in New York, will be the 13th Town Hall Meeting between the leadership of the Consulate and the Nigerian Community under its jurisdiction.
It will, however, be the first to be presided over by Ambassador Jidda, a highly experienced Diplomat, who recently arrived the US to assume duties in New York.
It is expected that the new Consul General will address the meeting, unfold his road map and answer some questions.
The Town Hall meetings have proved to be an effective platform for interaction between the leadership of the Consulate General and Nigerian nationals in the states it covers, including Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts and Michigan.
The other states in the coverage area of the New York Consulate are New Hampshire, Nebraska, Ohio, North Dakota, South Dakota, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Vermont and Pennsylvania.
All nationals within the New York Consulate’s jurisdiction are invited and expected to attend the meeting.
