A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Felix Awofisayo, has charged residents and indigenes of Osun State to ensure that they register and collect their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) on time.
This is contained in a statement he issued and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, in Ile-Ife.
He said that those who have attained the voting age should avail themselves of the ongoing opportunity by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by doing the needful ahead of the fast-approaching governorship election in Osun.
According to him, it is only through this they can effectively participate in any electoral process.
“Osun residents and indigenes must understand that participation in any electoral process in our country today, requires the possession of the mandatory PVC,” he stated.
He further advised the electorate to encourage all their younger ones who are just attaining the voting age to also make use of INEC’s window of opportunity to go and register with a view to participating in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
The APC chieftain further observed that the state is abundantly blessed with a youthful population that can participate effectively in any electoral process.
“To the glory of God, our state is blessed with a youthful population that can effectively participate in any electoral process in the country,” he stressed.
He, therefore, charged the APC leadership in the state to put all machineries in motion to encourage all those just attaining the voting age to go and register and obtain their PVCs ahead of the July 16 governorship election.
