The Special Holy Ghost Service of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) for March 2022, during which the 80th birthday of the General Overseer (G.O) of the Church, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye was celebrated, ended on a high note at the Redemption Camp, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Nigeria.
At the Thanksgiving Service to bring the spectacular program with the theme: “The Joy of The Lord,” to glorious end, on Sunday, March 6, 2022, Pastor Adeboye, full of thanks to everyone, every department, groups and institutions that contributed to the huge success that the four-day spiritual festival turned out to be, said that he is what he is because of the mercy of God.
The internationally highly renowned cleric said: “I want to thank the Most High God for His mercy, for His grace, for His goodness, for His faithfulness, for the salvation of my soul, for the baptism in the Holy Spirit, for calling me into the Ministry, for surrounding me with so many wonderful people….I thank the Almighty God most sincerely for an extremely anointed choir, because wherever you have an anointed choir, God is bound to be present,….I thank God that I have obtained mercy. I am what I am today because of the mercy of God. You know, there’s no other explanation. Just God is merciful….”
The high point of the Special Holy Ghost Service on Friday, March 4, 2022 had in attendance a full capacity crowd of worshippers at the Church’s new ultra modern auditorium as well as the old auditorium, at viewing centers all over the world and countless online participants on all the Church’s social media platforms.
Live at the Service in the Camp ground were dignitaries from different parts of the world including the Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) and his wife, Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his wife, the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, former Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, wife of Ogun State governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun and several top clerics from within and outside the country.
The celebration of Pastor Adeboye’s 80th birthday included the Reach4Christ LightUp Crusades in major cities of the country and beyond aimed at winning souls for Christ, the inauguration of some Christian Social Responsibility projects in different parts of the country and beyond, the Annual Public Lecture in honour of the G.O, delivered by Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah of Sokoto and Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the 80 hours nonstop Marathon Messiah Praise program. The celebration, in the 70th year of the RCCG, culminated in the Special Holy Ghost Service that started on Thursday, March 3. Pastor Adeboye turned 80 on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
As part of the preface to his sermon on Friday night, the General Overseer reminded the worldwide audience of his prophecy at the beginning of the year that there would be a new wave of refugee crisis in the world, noting that what was happening in Ukraine was a manifestation of the prophecy.
He, however, reassured that members of the RCCG in the embattled country had either been evacuated or are safe.
The LightUp crusades and the different services of the Special Holy Ghost Service witnessed glorious praise and worship sessions, intense prayers, in-depth ministrations of the word of God, prophetic declarations and deliverance and healing sessions. Crowds of people were won to Jesus Christ, very many were healed of diverse conditions and there were spectacular testimonies of God’s miracles, signs and wonders.
Pastor Adeboye also announced that the April Holy Ghost Service would be dedicated to children and that the theme is Signs and Wonders, assuring that it would be a glorious time in the presence of the Lord.
