Peter Obi celebrates Mike Adenuga at 70

Mr. Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25, 2023, election has congratulated Dr. Michael Adeniyi Agbolade Ishola Adenuga, the founder of Globacom, Nigeria’s second largest telecommunications company on his attainment of the landmark age of 70.

In a tweet, Mr. Obi, former Governor of Anambra State, said: “My Very Dear Elder Brother and Friend, Dr. Mike Adenuga, my kind thoughts and sincere prayers are with you on your recent birthday. You have hugely contributed to the growth and development of our economy through your various productive enterprises that led to job creation, provision of critical products and services and others.

“Your desire for hard work, a knack for excellence and a push for success reflect on the successful businesses you have grown in the nation. You remain a symbol of hard work for the younger generation to look up to.

“I wish you well, now and always. Happy 70th birthday Sir. -PO.”

Born on April 29, 1953, Chief Adenuga (GCON), who is on record as Africa’s 6th richest person, owns major stakes in Equitorial Trust Bank and the oil exploration firm Conoil (formerly Consolidated Oil Company) and is a reputed to be a philanthropist of note.
