Peter Obi meets Labour Party’s Edo state guber candidate, Olumide Apata

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general election, Mr. Peter Obi, has met with the party’s governorship candidate for Edo State in the forthcoming guber polls, Mr. Olumide Apata.

Mr. Obi, former Governor of Anambra State confirmed the meeting via his X (former Twitter) platform, stressing that they had “very productive and fruitful discussions.”

While wishing Apata, a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) well, Mr. Obi said “we remain united in our efforts to build the New Nigeria.”

The governorship election will hold on Saturday, September 21, 2024 and Apata will be facing the candidates of other parties, especially those of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), the parties in power at the state and federal levels respectively.
