Pro-Biafran leader, Onwuka, out of prison, vows to re-launch Biafra, March 15; Says ex-President Jonathan’s govt tried to kill them in prison, that Obama saved them

Fresh from prison, the leader of Biafra Zionist Federation (BZF), Barr. Benjamin Igwe Onwuka ,Tuesday announced that Biafra Republic will be re-launched on March 15, 2017.
Onwuka, who narrated his harrowing experience in detention for over three years, accused former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration of plans to kill him and his co-detainees in jail.
The BZF leader, it will be recalled, led the pro-Biafran group that invaded Enugu State Broadcasting Service (ESBS) on June 5, 2014 in a failed bid to announce Biafran Independence.
He spoke to journalists in Enugu after his release from Owerri Federal Prison the previous day, Monday. 10 of his co-detainees are still in prison.
The police had stopped the BZF from achieving its aim of over running Enugu State Government and seizing the state radio station on June 5, 2014 leading to the arrest of Onwuka and 12 others who were clamped into detention till his release on Monday.
The group had earlier on March 7, 2014 attacked Government House Enugu to hoist the flag of the defunct Republic of Biafra there, even as they insisted that Enugu was still the capital of Biafra.
But after regaining his freedom, having spent more than three years in detention for treasonable felony and other charges, Onwuka declared that there was no going back on the realization of an independent state of Biafra, insisting that the President of the United States of America (USA), Mr. Donald Trump would endorse the new republic because the approval for it was given by his predecessor, Barack Obama on October 15, 2014.
He said that it was preposterous to talk about referendum for Biafra as according to him, Biafra was already established with a head of state, currency and recognized by some countries before it was suspended brutally during the civil war from 1967 to 1970.
He narrated how the federal government under the leadership of former President Goodluck Jonathan had given approval for him and his co-detainees to be silently executed while in detention in an Abuja underground cell but for the intervention of former President Barack Obama of America.
Onwuka denied the charges preferred against him and his group including the allegation of killing a policeman, saying that those were trumped up charges to eliminate them, adding that ex-President Jonathan’s administration went as far as obtaining judgment of death penalty against them in absentia before the intervention of Obama.
“The people of Biafra will regain their independence on March 15, 2017; the Republic of Biafra will rise again. I repeat again, Biafra will be announced on March 15, 2017 by the Zionists and I, Onwuka will
be leading the government and the people of Biafra and the Zionists will be providing the leadership for the people of Biafra until we establish a government that will be responsible for the governance of our people.
He, however, said that there is a condition for these.” For us to make the announcement, we must go back to what Barack Obama did in 2014. He approved Biafra’s Independence in 2014. However on March 15, 2017, Biafra’s independence will be announced based on endorsement by President Donald Trump of the United States of America. Therefore my fellow Biafrans, Biafra’s independence is incumbent on America’s support and endorsement and that is the ground upon which we shall be making the announcement on March 15, 2017… America must endorse it, that is the key component of it, that diplomatic cover by the Americans …” he said.
