National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, Speaker Yakubu Dogara and other leaders during an emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party in Abuja Wednesday.

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has called on the military not to allow themselves be called out again for illegal duties.

Prince Secondus said that at the rerun election this Saturday, the military and other security agencies should resist any attempt to be dragged into election manipulations.

The National Chairman said that military institution in Nigeria is highly regarded and it’s their responsibility to guard their names jealously and prevent anything that will tarnish their name.

According to a statement from his media office, the National Chairman said that the term ‘inconclusive’ being used for elections in some states is a rigging strategy introduced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to aid the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

He said that PDP is certain to get victory in the rerun in at least five of the six states and warned INEC and the security agencies to stay clear.

Prince Secondus also reminded the INEC Chairman, Prof. Yakubu that he will be personally held responsible for the consequences of all his actions.

The Vice Presidential candidate of the party, Mr. Peter Obi  in his own remarks said that while INEC and the security agencies should be knocked for their actions, more shame should go to the persons who are directing them to subvert the will of the people.

Obi said that the worst form of corruption is election rigging because the process of coming into power is far more important  than what is done thereafter.

The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and the Speaker, House Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara all urged members of the party to remain steadfast and not despair as their victory in the presidential election must be restored at the court.
