Uzodinma, Sylva, Kyari, Wabote, other dignitaries grace flag off of Waltersmith Refinery Ibigwe, Imo State

The 5,000 barrels per day Waltersmith Modular Refinery at Ibigwe Field in Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria was inaugurated virtually by President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 in State House, Abuja.

But on ground at the project site to represent him and cut the tape to officially flag off the project, which is a collaboration between the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and Waltersmith Refining and Petrochemical Company, were Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, Minister of State for Petroleum, Chief Timipre Sylva, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Group Managing Director, Mele Kyari, Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Simbi Wabote, Chairman of WalterSmith, Abdulrazaq Isa and other dignitaries.

The program also witnessed the Ground Breaking Ceremony for the Phase 2 works to expand the capacity of the refinery to 50,000.
