Last Friday’s raid of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) may have prompted the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi to appoint an acting managing director of NAMA as its top management are still with the anti-graft agency facing questions.
Amaechi, it was learnt, paid an unscheduled visit to NAMA on Tuesday and had a closed door meeting with the directors of the agency where the Director of Engineering, Emmanuel Anasi was told to act in the stead of Managing Director, Ibrahim Abdulsalam who is being grilled by the EFCC.
Meanwhile staff of the agency, say they are oblivious to the directive by the Minister for Anasi to act claiming there has been no official communication to that effect but once that is established everyone falls in line.
The managing director is undergoing questioning at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja along with Director of Finance and Accounts, Mrs. Clara Aliche, Acting Director of Procurement, Muyiwa Adegorite, General Manager (Finance) Nurudeen Segun Agbolade and Project Manager, Felicia Agubata.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is said to be investigating the agency based on a petition submitted to it on activities at the agency from 2012 till date
