CAF Confederation Cup: Bendel Insurance shoot down Algeria’s ASO Chlef

Nigerian club Bendel Insurance FC defeated Algerian side ASO CHLEF 1-0 in their CAF Confederation Cup qualification round first leg clash on Saturday August 19.

Tall striker Imade Osarehkoe scored the match winner to hand Bendel Insurance FC the victory and 1-0 aggregate lead ahead of the return leg in Algeria.

Imade struck the winner for Monday Odigie’s men in the 42nd minute against a compact ASO CHLEF team at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

The Algerians pressed hard to get an equalizer but the Benin Arsenal were disciplined enough to seal the slim win.

Nigeria Federation Cup Champions Bendel Insurance will now travel for the return leg hoping to achieve a positive result to progress to the next round of this season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
