The remains of the late President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Professor (Ambassador) George Obiozor (CON) will be committed to mother earth on Friday, February 3, 2023.
The former Ambassador of Nigeria to Israel, the United States of America (USA) and Cyprus died on December 12, 2022, at the age of 80.
An obituary announcement by Cyprian C. Obiozor, for the Obiozor family of Ubachima 1, Awo-Omamma, Oru-East LGA, Imo State, Nigeria, said that the departed academic luminary and diplomatic icon, was a loving husband to Mrs. Grace C. Obiozor (nee Onyedinma), a father, and grandfather and is also survived by brothers, a sister, nephews, nieces, cousins, and many other relations.
The announcement also said that the body of the one-time Director General of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) will arrive his compound on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 8:00am.
There will be lying-in-state from 8:15-9:30am, a Funeral Mass at St. John’s Catholic Church, Ubachima 1, Awo-Omamma from 10:00am before interment at his compound.
Reception and condolences, the statement concluded, will follow after interment at the late Obiozor’s compound.
Dignitaries from all over the country and beyond, including top government officials, diplomats, academics and representatives of socio-cultural organisations, are expected to grace the burial of the departed statesman.
