The 8th session of the National Assembly, which was originally billed to resume sitting this Tuesday, July 21, has extended its break by another week.

A National Assembly source disclosed that the Senators and members of the House of Representatives members will, by the extension, now resume on July 28.

“The ongoing Sallah celebration is one of the causes of the extension. As far as I know, they are not fully ready for parliamentary duties as they have to be in the right frame of mind before embarking on the next activities,” the source said on phone, adding:

“Just like you know, there are still some unresolved issues amongst them which they have to thrash out before resuming for any sitting.”
