Nigeria stars Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman were both on the scoresheet on Saturday as their clubs secured important victories in Turkey and Spain.
Osimhen continued his impressive start to the season by scoring in Galatasaray’s 3–2 win over Göztepe in the Turkish Super Lig.
The Nigerian striker converted from the penalty spot after being fouled inside the box, taking his league tally to five goals this season. He also provided an assist, while another goal was ruled out for offside.
After the game, Osimhen welcomed his close friend and new Galatasaray signing Rafael Leão.
“Victor Osimhen and I are good friends, and we will do great things for Galatasaray,” Leão said after arriving in Istanbul.
Meanwhile, Ademola Lookman scored his first La Liga goal for Atletico Madrid in a convincing 3–1 victory over Sevilla.
Lookman doubled Atletico’s lead in the 26th minute with a smart finish at the near post.
Alex Baena scored twice for Diego Simeone’s side, while Miguel Sierra pulled one back for Sevilla in the second half.
The win moved Atletico Madrid to seven points from three matches, putting them top of the early La Liga table.
It was another memorable night for Nigeria’s attacking stars, with both Osimhen and Lookman finding the net for their respective clubs.
