Big Brother Naija reality star Phyna has marked the first anniversary of her sister Ruth’s death, saying she is still struggling to come to terms with the loss.
Phyna, in an emotional tribute shared online, said the passage of one year had not eased the pain of losing her sister, adding that some moments still feel as though the incident happened recently.
The reality star also expressed regret over her inability to secure what she described as justice for her late sister.
“I’m sorry I could not get you justice,” Phyna wrote in the tribute, while promising to continue loving and remembering Ruth.
Ruth died in August 2025 after she was involved in a crash involving a Dangote Group truck. Following the incident, Phyna publicly accused businessman Aliko Dangote and the Dangote Group of failing to take responsibility for her sister’s death.
She also alleged that the company influenced the removal of the truck’s number plate from police records. The claims, however, have not been established by a court.
Reflecting on the loss, Phyna said she still wished she could have another conversation, hug and laugh with her sister.
“It’s been exactly one year since I lost you, my sister, and honestly, I still don’t know how to put into words what your absence has done to me,” she wrote.
The reality star said there were moments when she remembered her sister and felt the pain afresh despite the passage of 365 days.
She also recalled the memories and bond they shared, saying her sister’s absence had left a lasting impact on her.
Phyna said the experience had reminded her of the fragility of life and the importance of valuing loved ones.
She described Ruth as deeply missed and promised to carry her memory with her for the rest of her life.
“Sleep peacefully, my beautiful sister. You are deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Until we meet again… I love you always,” she wrote.
