Released: D’Tigress of Nigeria squad from 2025 AFROBASKET

With Nigeria preparing to defend its AFROBASKET Championship title at the 2025 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket Championship in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has released a provisional list of those that will be in the senior women’s national team, D’Tigress.

The reigning champions will begin preparations with a training camp that includes structured sessions and their exciting “Homecoming Games”, exhibition matches that will not only celebrate the team’s past successes but also help coaches decide who makes the final list.

The NBBF says it is committed to building the strongest possible team to retain the continental title and bring glory back to Nigeria.

Here is the full preliminary squad:

Guards:
Precious Amukamara (PG), Ezinne Kalu (PG), Ifunaya Okoro (CG – PG/SG)

Shooting Guards/Forwards:
Elizabeth Balogun (SG/SF), Grace Efosa (SG/SF), Solape Amusan (SG/SF),
Abiodun Damilola Yusuf (SG/SF), Adenike Olawuyi Olayemi (SF)

Forwards/Power Forwards:
Amy Okonkwo (SF/PF), Nicole Enabosi (SF/PF), Pallas Kunayi (PF),
Murjanatu Musa (PF), Gift Uchenna (PF)

Power Forwards/Centres:
Victoria Macaulay (PF/C), Christabel Ezumah (PF/C), Izoje Uche (PF/C)

Centres:
Lauren Ebo, Ugonne Onyiah, Vera Ojenuwa, Blessing Ejiofor

With strong talents and experienced players in the mix, the battle for places in the final team is expected to be tough. D’Tigress are aiming to defend their title and continue their dominance in African women’s basketball.
