President Bola Tinubu has condoled with Vice-President Kashim Shettima and his family over the passing of Hajiya Maryam Abubakar Albishir, his mother-in-law.
The President, in a statement by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, his Special Adviser (Media & Publicity), described “the passing of Hajiya Maryam, who is the mother of the Vice-President’s wife, Hajiya Nana Shettima, as a deeply painful loss.
“The President not only mourns the deceased but also celebrates her legacies of philanthropy and good virtues.”
While praying for the repose of the soul of the late Hajiya Maryam, President Tinubu urged the family to take solace in the remarkable life the departed matriarch lived.
President Tinubu has also extended his condolences to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, over the passing of his mother-in-law, Hajiya Asiya Muhammad Gauyama.
Hajiya Asiya died in Kano on Monday.
President Tinubu, in another statement by Chief Ngelale, said that the deceased will be missed for her contributions to her family and community as matriarch, guide, and leader.
He, thereafter, prayed for the repose of the soul of late Hajiya Asiya, and for comfort for her family.
