The former Minister of Health and an elder statesman, Prof A.B.C Nwosu has said that the choice of Mr. Peter Obi as the running mate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was good for Nigeria, because the situation in the country today needed a sound and proven manager of men and resources like Mr. Peter Obi.
Speaking further recently, Prof. Nwosu appealed to Nigerians to work together towards the success of the Atiku/Obi ticket in the forthcoming General election, describing Atiku’s choice of Obi as perfect, pointing out that Obi is a round peg in a round hole. His words “Obi’s choice shows that Atiku is coming to work. Obi is young, knowledgeable, competent and humble.”
On specific attributes of Obi that made his choice acceptable, Nwosu continues: “Obi’s achievements as a two-term governor of Anambra State speak volumes of his competence and point to him as a round peg in a round hole for a country that is seeking to come out of recession; for a country that is seeking massive creation of jobs; for a government that badly needs prudence in government expenditure; for a government that wants to fight corruption effectively by plugging the expenditure leakages, etc”, to have Obi is a step towards solving Nigeria’s myriad of problems.
Arguing that the era of voting by trial and error had gone, Nwosu said that what Obi did in Anambra State: his ability to leave billions in the state after his tenure, his exploits in health and education and revolution in infrastructural provision and many more were the track records Nigerians should search for before voting.
