The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry and Convener of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi, Pastor William Kumuyi, has urged participants at the ongoing Ogun West crusade in Ota, Ogun State, to surrender their lives completely to Jesus Christ rather than merely attend the programme.
Kumuyi gave the charge on the third day of the five-day crusade, stressing that salvation and genuine transformation should be the ultimate benefits of the gathering.
Speaking on the theme, “The Favoured Partakers of Gracious Transformation,” based on Romans 12:1-3, the cleric urged participants to allow the word of God to renew their minds and change their lives.
“Go beyond enjoying the programme; renew your mind to prove what is good, acceptable and perfect will of God. This is when great, gracious and glorious transformation would have taken place,” he said.
His call to salvation received a significant response, with hundreds of attendees surrendering their lives to Christ during the programme.
Kumuyi said the cross of Christ continued to offer salvation to those willing to turn away from sin and embrace Jesus.
“There’s something that Christ and the cross still provide: salvation,” he declared.
The cleric warned participants against worldly attractions, saying they could draw people away from God.
“The world is full of temptations. The world doesn’t call them temptations, but attractions. Take yourself away from all those dirty attractions in the world. You must personally decide to follow Jesus,” he said.
He also cited James 4:4 to remind the congregation that friendship with the world could undermine their relationship with God.
Kumuyi urged believers to heed the instruction in Romans 12:1 to present their bodies to God, saying genuine Christian commitment required a conscious decision to separate oneself from sinful influences.
The GCK convener also shared his personal experience of receiving the gospel in Ogun State, saying he responded by surrendering himself to God.
“I was born again in Ogun State. I was educated in Ogun State. I come back to Ogun State, I am telling you, this is what I got,” he said.
He recalled that when he heard the word of God in the state, he did not reject the messenger or the message.
“When I heard the word here in Ogun State, I didn’t drive away the one that gave me the word. Rather, I bent my knees and prayed to God,” Kumuyi said.
He appealed to participants not to reject the gospel, assuring them that God was ready to cleanse and transform those who genuinely surrendered to Him.
“You will not reject the gospel. The Lord will wash you clean from all the filthy things of the world and make you clean,” he declared.
Speaking on “The Triumph of Breakthrough into His Wonders,” with reference to Acts 5:12-16, Kumuyi said total surrender to God would bring salvation, deliverance and divine intervention.
“When you totally give yourself to God, He will save you and deliver you,” he said.
He also charged believers to take the gospel beyond the crusade ground, citing Christ’s instruction in Mark 16:15 to preach the gospel to the world.
Kumuyi said those who experienced salvation should become witnesses of Christ and help others encounter the transforming power of the gospel.
The Ota crusade has attracted thousands of participants from Ogun State and beyond, with hundreds responding to the call to salvation and others seeking divine intervention in various areas of their lives.
Kumuyi urged the congregation to ensure that the impact of the crusade continued beyond the duration of the programme, stressing that the evidence of an encounter with God was a transformed life.
