The Arch-Bishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province, Anglican Communion, His Grace, Most Rev. Emmanuel Chukwuma has commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State for rebuilding and reconstructing legacies by starting work on the long abandoned International Conference Centre (ICC). Enugu.
In a homily on the occasion of an inter-denominational funeral service for the burial ceremony of late Mrs. Nnenna Nnamani, wife of the former governor of Enugu State, Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani, Rev. Chukwuma also applauded Governor Ugwuanyi for flagging off and starting work on the long neglected Opi – Nsukka Road in the state.
The Arch-Bishop thanked God that Governor Ugwuanyi is creating an atmosphere for reconciliation and respects for human dignity in the state, adding that in such a short time, his administration has created enormous conducive atmosphere for peaceful co-existence among the people of the state.
According to the man of God, the governor has also shown an exemplary leadership and sacrifice by operating from his private residence six months after his inauguration as the governor of the state.
Arch-Bishop Chukwuman regretted that the poor and the less privileged are being marginalized in the society, warning that those involved in such act are liable to hell fire.
In a brief remark, the Deputy Senate President of Nigeria, Senator Ike Ekweremadu thanked God for the life and time of Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani, husband of the deceased who carried people along when he was the governor of the state. He noted that Dr. Chimaroke is the political boss who made a great number of them what they are today.
He enjoined Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani to bear the death of his wife with fortitude, adding that the deceased can rest in peace if her children are well taken care of.
He called on the people who benefited from the former governor to stand by him now and console him this period of his mourning.
In a Eulogy Dr. Nnamani regretted that he at the age of 55 years was paying tribute to her wife who was 47 years. He added, “who can question the paradox of life or question life’s irony.”
The burial church service was attended by top government officials and politicians among whom are Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Amb. Goddy Agbo and the former Minister of Information of Nigerian, Chief Nnia Nwodo among others.
